must be interesting living in a fantasy world containing sith-lords, demons and even demon sith-lords.

Antichrist
by Aleman inwho is the antichrist?
the antichrist is a liar and a deceiver, bent on destroying a persons relationship with christ and with god.
john 2:22 - who is the liar if it is not the one that denies that jesus is the christ?

Do I owe my life to the org?
by Serg inthe only reason i'm here and i exist is because of the jw org., my parents met in a hall.
is this your situation?.
if it weren't for that missionary couple out in dominican republic in the 50's that called on my grandma and if it weren't for the brother in the early 70's who called on my dad, my parents would have never met and i wouldn't be sitting here writing this post.. i just realized all of these years i thought i owed my life to god and his organization what i actually owed my life to was an organization that claimed to be god's channel.

using that logic, many people owe their lives to hitler, because their parents wouldn't have met without WW2.
sorry to hear bout your wife and kids... hang in there, every JW's faith is shaken at some point - and then you're there to help. -

For those of you who don't go to meetings anymore...
by exwitless inwhen you attended your last meeting ever as a dub, did you know it was your last?
did something happen which made it clear in your mind you were 'never going back' (not to be confused with nvrgnbk)?.
the last meeting we went to was the memorial in 2006. we only went because we knew we were already pegged for the elders' unwanted attention, so we had to go to keep them off our backs a little longer.

oompa, that's the point, once you set foot into a kingdumb hell again, you'll be approached and "love"-bombed by all the loving friends... they might even want to lure you into a biblestudy, who knows.
i did attend for my wife and mom for a long time, but at some point you just can't stand the bull anymore. i soon caught myself nervously staring at the clock watching the seconds pass before even the first hour was over. i think it's bad for your health to go to the meetings.
my wife was diehard JW too and still believes most of the nonsense. however, she can't stand the gossip anymore. and when you get a JW away from the meetings for a while, they become pretty reasonable. i can even talk with her about evolution now and how interesting this is. -

How Did You Personally Deal With Disfellowshipped Ones?
by minimus in.....whether they were family or not??
?

i used to shun them, though i felt bad about it. i was like 14 years old when my older sister was disfellowshipped. the elders applauded me for not talking to her. now i'm too ashamed about it to start talking to her again. i just jumped over my shadow a while ago and visited another disfellowshipped sister of mine. and it felt good.

"What are your fruits?"
by changeling insomeone i love asked me that the other day.. i said: "i'm a good person, and i love my family".
i also said: "regardless of religion, i strive to follow the 'golden rule'.".
i don't think this is what the person wanted to hear.. so, now that you no longer "serve jehovah", what are your friuts?.

i'm glad not to be pressed to any kind of fruits. i just live, and you know what: it feels good too.

Associated Jehovahs Witnesses for Reform on Blood
by LtCmd.Lore inhttp://www.ajwrb.org/.
anyone heard of this group before?.
i just heard about them today on an episode of the skeptics guide to the universe.

that site has been around for years and helped me a lot, when i started researching my doubts. one graph that pretty much opened my eyes on how idiotic the whole blood issue is, is the one showing that JW may now accept almost 100% of blood.

Welcome Superfine Apostate!
by Sparkplug ini noticed your post!
seems like several of us, you just jumped right in there and stuck a couple of your hooves in your mouth and that is just great to see!
i thought if someone did not call you on the gringo comments i was going to have to get all up in your koolaide!

i lost both my password and email, so i gotta work my way up to jedi once again.
havent been around here for about 2 years now, because i simply lost interest in the whole JW thang. moved on and tried to live a life. but when most things you know are about religion and stuff, you just got to talk about it sometimes, that's why i'm back, just checking what's up.
btw: is superfine tetrapod.sapien still around here? -

hey sparkie, thanks for the welcome. i've been active in this forum a few years ago (googlemagoogle).
about the gringos: i actually would be called gringo in most latin-american countries too - and i wouldn't be insulted in any way. i like it rough you know ;) well, not always, to be honest i'm a easy person to live with.
about my political views: pretty much live and let live. i don't see a point in prohibiting gay marriage and such. -

i did the fade more or less... it's a little funny, but just about everyone knows i'm an atheist. only my mom just dont get it. i haven't felt like a JW in years (been on this forum under the nick "googlemagoogle" if anyone remembers) and was very outspoken about it for a while, having discussions about the 607 fraud, the blood issue and what not. it always ended in a disaster, having my mom crying, my wife being upset about me making my mom cry and you know... i simply stopped talking about such topics. my mom is a pioneer now, i guess she thinks she could save me that way...
if she's any happier with it, i'll go through the horrors of the memorial once a year.
